or single family residence. We can also assist with referring to you quality dealers to install and maintain your access control system. One important advantage of using DoorKing products and services is that we
manufacture the complete access system. Gate operators, telephone entry system, card readers, RF access system, and the most common accessories are available from DoorKing. Gated Communities - Your Needs If
the need is to control vehicular access, you must consider both resident and guest access control. Will residents use cards, RF devices, or simple digital codes? There must be a means for a guest to communicate to the
resident, and a means for the resident to grant or deny access. You must also consider vendor access control, utilities, and emergency vehicle access. If tail-gating is a problem, there are various methods to help
control and reduce vehicles from tail-gating behind each other. There must also be a method to allow vehicles to exit the property. There must also be a way to activate the gates during power outages. A gate release
mechanism must also be considered to allow the gate to be opened in case of a catastrophic mechanical failure, or failure of the back-up system to open the gate. Gate safety must also be factored into any vehicular
access control system design. This must include systems and devices to protect both pedestrian and vehicular traffic. Do you wish to keep a transaction log of all access activity? Vehicular gate activity? Will your
system be programmed on site or remotely using a personal computer? Sound complicated? It could be, but with the help of a DoorKing's sales representative, we can assist you and your system designer with answers to all
of these questions. The Perimeter Access Management System (PAMS) was designed for gated communities to provide access control for both resident and visitor vehicular access, as well as pedestrian walk through access,
and provides accountability of all entries and entry attempts at the controlled access point(s). The system consist of a combination of slide and/or swing gate operators, barrier operators, loop detectors, a visitor
communication system, and resident controlled entry devices such as cards and/or RF transmitters. The access system is managed by a personal computer which maintains the resident datadase and provides reporting of all
entries and entry attempts through the system using the DoorKing Remote Account Manager software for Windows®. Before designing or installing any vehicular access control system, please see our Vehicular Gate Safety page and our
Emergency Vehicle Access page so that you can become familiar with the various safety issues that need to be addressed before any system is installed.
Apartment Buildings / College Resident Halls When controlling access into a building, both resident and guest access control must be addressed. A means for communication from the lobby to a residents apartment
must be addressed along with the ability for the resident to grant or deny access. Additionally, vendor, utility, and emergency personnel access must be considered. DoorKing's model 1816 Telephone Intercom System is
a unique access control system that provides residents with full duplex voice communication to, and control of, a buildings entrance door through their own telephone. The 1816 does not require a dedicated central office
phone line for operation. This eliminates the need for costly hard wired intercom systems and monthly line charges and equipment lease payments to the telephone company. In addition, central office phone service is not
required by a buildings resident to be able to communicate with the lobby panel and grant or deny access. This makes the 1816 ideal for low income and government housing projects, and college resident halls. The 1816 is
uniquely suited for buildings housing two or more residents. The system expands in multiples of 12 and with auxiliary cabinets can accommodate up to 3132 residents. BACK TO TOP |
